Marcelo Solis Mercado is a Mexican American cinematographer from the San Fernando Valley. Earning a BFA in Cinematography from Columbia College Hollywood, Marcelo has lensed multiple short films of varying genres and earning awards for those projects. Most notably, having won a cinematography award for his film Blackstar (2022) and screening at the renowned Burbank Film Festival.

Using his unique point-of-view that is built from his cultural background, personal values, and love for the relationships that have built his life; Marcelo's projects and way of filmmaking reflect his love for stories full of connection, the human experience, and unheard voices. Striving to highlight narratives that make the audience feel seen and heard in the screen and in real life.

Marcelo's experience vary across all points of production, highlighting his camera and lighting work that has been featured in commercials, music videos, short narratives, and feature narratives.
